1. Hold the pen perpendicular to the film surface and apply appropriate pressure to draw a line on the film surface. Dyne pens with smaller ranges are easier to draw straight lines, so less pressure is required.
2. Generally, for initial testing, six different models of dyne pens are required to ensure measurement accuracy. If the film surface tension values vary minimally, at least three different models of dyne pens are required.
Analysis Results
1. If the line drawn on a properly corona-treated film is evenly distributed without any beading, the film's surface dyne content is higher than or equal to the index indicated on the pen.
2. If the line drawn on an improperly corona-treated film slowly shrinks, the film's surface dyne content is lower than the index indicated on the pen.
3. If the line drawn on an untreated film shrinks immediately and forms beading, the film's surface dyne content is significantly lower than the index indicated on the pen.
